this privacy policy explains how yap ("yap," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use the yap mobile application, our websites, widgets, Siri and Shortcuts features, support channels, and related services (collectively, the "service").
some yap features involve sensitive and deeply personal information. you control whether to grant device permissions and whether to use optional AI, health, location, face-reading, palm-reading, voice, contact, calendar, and wallet features.
account and profile information. email address, Apple sign-in identifier, display name, age range, gender or pronoun preferences, authentication records, settings, support messages, referral information, and subscription status.
birth and cosmic profile information. date, time, and place of birth; coordinates and time zone associated with a birth place; zodiac-system preference; calculated astrology, numerology, Human Design, BaZi, destiny, return, compatibility, and related profile results; and information you add about compatible-relationship profiles.
journal and other content. journal entries, dreams, moods, affirmations, drawings, chat messages, personality and onboarding answers, voice recordings and transcripts, photographs, videos, captions, and other content you create, upload, or ask us to analyze.
wellness and device-permission data. if you grant permission, yap may access step count, walking or running distance, active energy, sleep samples, and date of birth through Apple Health or a supported Android health service; precise foreground location and location-derived city, weather, and environmental context; selected calendar events; selected contact names, phone numbers, and images; camera, microphone, speech-recognition, and photo-library content; and notification tokens and preferences.
face, palm, and image information. if you choose face reading, palm reading, image chat, or visual-journal features, we process the images you submit and observations or interpretations generated from them. yap does not use Face ID, identify you by your face, or create a face template for authentication. uploaded face or palm images are not merely processed on-device: they may be stored with your account and sent to our cloud and AI providers to produce the requested reading.
device and usage information. IP address, device and operating-system information, app version, language and region, network state, screens and features used, referral or attribution information, purchase and entitlement events, diagnostic logs, crash reports, and interactions with our website.
purchases, wallet, and blockchain information. product identifiers, trial and subscription status, purchase and expiration events, public Solana wallet address, public blockchain balances and transactions, referral rewards, and token-reward activity. yap may generate a wallet for you. Wallet credentials are stored in secure device storage. Public blockchain activity is visible to anyone and cannot be deleted from the blockchain.
website cookies and similar technologies. our websites use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and measurement technologies, including an OpenAI measurement pixel, which may receive browser, device, page-view, referral, cookie, IP-address, and interaction information.
when you use AI features, yap may send the prompt and the context needed to answer it to an AI service. Depending on the feature, this can include chats, journal or dream text, transcripts, uploaded images, chart and numerology data, personality answers, relationship-profile context, location or weather context, and wallet-balance summaries. Our current AI providers include OpenAI and a0.dev for certain features.
AI outputs are probabilistic and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Do not rely on them for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, relationship, or other high-impact decisions.
health information is accessed only after platform permission and is used to provide user-facing wellness and journaling context. We do not sell HealthKit data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to determine eligibility for insurance, credit, employment, housing, or similar decisions. yap is not a healthcare provider and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.
we disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the service, including to:
we do not sell personal information for money. Our website analytics and measurement disclosures may be considered "sharing" or targeted advertising under some US state laws even when no money changes hands. You may contact us to request an opt-out where applicable.
some preferences, cached content, wallet credentials, and a compact cosmic snapshot are stored locally. On Apple devices, the snapshot may be placed in an App Group so widgets, Siri, and Shortcuts can answer requests without opening yap. Apple processes Siri, dictation, and Shortcuts interactions under Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
we keep account and synced content while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual journal, face, palm, and other supported records in the app. Account deletion is available in Settings and is intended to remove account-associated database records; deletion from backups, logs, fraud-prevention records, and provider systems may take additional time or be retained where legally required. AI and analytics providers may retain request or diagnostic data under their own service terms and configured retention periods. Local data may remain on your device until you delete the app, clear its data, or remove it through the relevant feature. Public blockchain records cannot be erased.
you can decline or revoke camera, microphone, speech, photos, contacts, calendar, location, health, and notification permissions in device settings. You can disable Yap's AI-processing setting, although some AI-powered features will stop working. You can update profile information, delete supported content, cancel subscriptions through your Apple account, or delete your yap account in Settings.
depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sale, sharing, profiling, or targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive information; and appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Email support@justkeepyapping.com with "privacy request" in the subject. We may need to verify your identity.
where European or similar law applies, we process information to perform our contract with you, with your consent, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and to meet legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, but this does not affect earlier processing. yap and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose laws may differ from yours. Where required, providers use recognized transfer safeguards.
we use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access, encrypted network transport, restricted storage access, and platform secure storage where implemented. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be lost, accessed, or disclosed improperly. You are responsible for protecting your device and credentials.
yap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If local law requires parental consent above age 13, you may use yap only with a parent or guardian's authorization. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information improperly.
we may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will post the updated date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
